Wow


The prize I received from Curlerchik arrived yesterday. This yarn is soooo beautiful. The photo doesn't do the yarn (or my lawn, for that matter) justice. The huge 200 g. skein contains 320 meters of NewZealand 10 ply wool handpainted by Jan Gilray. The main color is black rather than navy and the purple is darker. I have not yet decided what to make out of it but for now it is resting on the counter where I can pet and admire it. A thousand thanks to Curlerchik for her generosity.

Swallowtail Shawl Closeups

I finally reformatted the photos of the Swallowtail Shawl. Scroll down to the September 20, 2006 post for details. This is the edge:

My blogging skills leave much to be desired, hence the boring layout. And I made the photos on my scanner so they fail to do justice to the beautiful yarn I used. The edge picture comes the closest to the true colors which varied but didn't pool.
